5 Essential Tips for Candle Care

1. Trim the Wick: Before lighting, trim the wick to 0.6 cm (1/4") using scissors or a wick trimmer. This ensures a clean, even burn and extends your candle’s life.

2. Burn It to the Edge: Let the wax melt to the edges of the jar during each burn, especially the first time, to prevent tunnelling. For our 220g candles this requires 2-4 hours and for our 100g candles, 2 hours.

3. Practice Candle Safety: Never leave a burning candle unattended, and avoid burning for more than 4 hours at a time. Use a coaster or tile to protect surfaces from heat.

4. Know When to Stop: Discontinue use when only 0.5-1 cm of wax remains, as burning a nearly empty jar can cause overheating.

5. Repurpose the Jar: Once the candle is done, clean out the jar and repurpose it as a planter, pencil holder, toothbrush holder or anything else! Find more reuse ideas here.
